Professional life
In 1945 he joined ‘Fabrique égyptienne de conserves alimentaires ‘Kaha’ which was founded in 1940 by its owner Raphael Khoury-Haddad. A hard worker and recognized as a good manager Raymond Ayas ultimately took the position of Secretary-general of the company. His insistence on quality was a key factor in the company’s internal success and he travelled a lot to export the 35 kinds of canned and bottled foods produced by Kaha. The company became a food industry leader in the Middle-east and Arabic countries.
The last few years were challenging because of the political changes brought by the Nasser’s régime. The company was nationalized as part of a new economic program. The new ownership brought changes to management corporate structure and ways of doing business.
